I believe I saw Paul’s Coming Up video on MTV when it came out (here in America)… and it was good video FX for the day! Made an impression… I was involved in video at the time, vid tricks were rather labor-intensive 🙂

I know you didn’t have a chance to include Allan Williams in your list of important Beatles figures who passed. Alas, timing never seemed his friend. But it might present a worthy opportunity for you to do a show regarding the Williams legacy. Was he the most important pre-Brian figure in the band’s rise to fame? What were his contributions to the band’s sense of themselves as professional entertainers? And where exactly is Lord Woodbine’s estate located, and do they do tours?
Regarding Allan Williams. Mark Lewishon said this week ‘Without Alan, no Hamburg, without Hamburg no Beatles’ Happy New Year guys.

Boy you guys are rough on Ringo’s ASB. I think the recent bad is very tight and good! I also love the “Pure McCartney” box. Sure it is missing plenty of tracks but 45 years of music on 4 CD’s will do that. Gave the “Pure” box as a gift to a couple friends who said they loved it. It is so long overdue for Paul to have a post-Beatles box set like all of his contemporaries do (Elton, Clapton, Bowie etc. As Stella would say “It’s About F’n Time”! The remastering and sound quality on the CD’s and vinyl is sublime! The “Coming Up” video was played on America’s Top 10 show by Kasey Casem when it was #1 in 1980 in the US. I remember that vividly.
Was Ringo’s all star “Now Is The Time” released for purchase (even as a download)? I know there’s an official video on YouTube, but beyond that, I can’t find it anywhere.
