Typical Liverpudlian….very very opinionated and frank….My fathers family were all from Liverpool , I grew up with it! Even when my uncle was really old near the end if I brought up the Beatles…he would inevitably put down Ringo’s singing… no let up till the end..

This was a wonderful episode. I always enjoy hearing Spencer’s thoughts on the music scene, and have enjoyed his many interviews with colourful characters at Beatle Week on numerous occasions over the years. I will remain eternally grateful to him for playing a track from my CD of songs about the Beatle fan experience on his BBC Merseyside program, even if the panel of “jurors” didn’t like the song. Thanks a lot for having him on Something About The Beatles!

Always a good guest but the highlight for me and one of the all time top 10 moments in all of your casts since day 1 is the Pete Best drum track to Come Together! Genius.

I love his description of a bridge/middle 8 — some sort of thought that is kind of askance to what’s been going on in the rest of the song… lol
But his thoughts on song structure and comparing songs from artist to artist were incredibly astute.
