  1. Nice analysis on Cyn. I think by overlooking John and Cyn’s relationship, people miss out on an important aspect of his songwriting. Paul alluded to the fact that John was really nervous about Cyn’s infidelity as he was married, and that’s how Run for your life came about. I think it was lovely when it was good which is why Cyn, to her dying day, never really bad mouthed John even though she had every right to do so.

  3. The Jane Asher episode would be more interesting re: the inspiration behind many of Paul’s songs. Good points made here though, Cynthia was with John when he was a nobody, unlike the unmentionable one who swooped in.

  5. Yes, I have a hard time believing that Cynthia is singing on ‘Those Were the Days’, but I’m not disputing it. It sounds like an ABBA outtake.

  7. She was way too good for him! You could have quoted the last line from her book, ‘John’ in which she says if she could have had her life over again she would rather have never met Lennon. Mention could also have been made of what seemed to be a strong bond of love and loyalty between her and Julian, a warm friendship with May Pang and what seems genuine affection between Julian and Sean Lennon.
