If all you know about this sister act out of Austria is an array of Beatles covers on Youtube, then you don’t know the Mona Lisa Twins. They are the present-day embodiment of the ripples of waves begun when the Beatles entered popular consciousness over half a century ago; a manifestation of what Geoff Baker called “a good way of looking at the world.”
Lots of great artists emerged from the sixties and afterward, inspired by a force that The Beatles embodied and then set into motion. This puts the Mona Lisa Twins in good company. Listen and discover.

Fantastic interview — though I gotta say, it kind of threw me that Lisa was in my left ear and Mona was in my right (since they’re almost always presented as in the photo above, with Mona on the left and Lisa on the right)! 😀
I think the first video I ever saw of theirs was “Two of Us”, and I was instantly hooked — and then I listened to “That’s Life” and that solidified my love for them. Again, great interview… thanks, Robert. This was wonderful.

“In it for love” have always been one of my favorite.
The MonaLisa-Twins have done some great Beatle covers, but also great covers of other artists. For example, Brian Wilson’s “God Only Knows” and John Sebastian’s “Daydream.” Plus, their original music is incredible. When We’re Together; I Don’t Know Birds That Well; Won’t You Listen Now; and the other songs from the album “When We’re Together.”
And their album “Orange.” Wow! “Still A Friend of Mine.” “Close to You.” “Count on Me.” And…

It was a really in depth discussion with the girls covering a vast array of topics from their earliest accounts of how they started, their musical development, to their points of view about the Beatles, what the Beatles mean to them, etc.. A really powerful interview! Very enjoyable, and loved the opportunity to hear them play live as well. The MonaLisa Twins are indeed one the brightest musical talents to come along in a long time.
Love MLT, I discovered them in August 2017 just before the release of “Orange”. I am 62 and seen the Beatles on Ed Sullivan show when I was 8 years old. Mona and Lisa brought me the same joy of music as the Beatles did then and I have been hooked ever since to their music. I really enjoyed listening to this interview, thanks for sharing.

Incredible! Talented and of course fans of the greatest body of pop music ever. They also are easy on the eyes. They are to be saluted for the originality. Purist respectful of the tradition. Great conversation with these two lovely girls. I have loved their music since the first time I heard it. Orange is a great pop album and these two new cover albums include some stunning versions from also other than Beatles stuff, for example Paint It Black and White Room.
Lisa and Mona are the best kept secret on today’s music world…they are talented, charming and produce some of the best music and covers I’ve ever heard. There new CD’s are always playing in my car and I especially have enjoyed there new covers of Bull Dog White Room and the KINKS song…although all the songs are sung played and produced to perfection…hope there are video’s in the future of these songs
